**Maris Wavecaller** is the Divine of Water — patron of the sea, the tides, and change — and one of the [[The Pantheon|Seven Divines]] of [[Elandis]]. Her relic is **Umberlee's Grasp**, an aquamarine-encrusted trident said to summon waves and whirlpools of terrible force.
## Overview
Maris Wavecaller commands the sphere of water among the [[The Pantheon|Seven Divines]], governing the sea in all its moods — the tides, the deep currents, and the change that water carries with it. Her relic, Umberlee's Grasp, is among the most formidable of the Seven's sacred artifacts, and its name is a curiosity the faith has long stopped asking about. The world reveres the Wavecaller as one of the Seven who hold the world in balance, eternal and watchful over all who live and die by the deep.
## Worship
### The Pouring
On **Waterday**, worshippers carry a vessel of their own — a cup, a bowl, a chalice — to the nearest water, whether well, river, or sea, and fill it there. At the hour of worship they pour it down one arm and let it run where it will: a reminder that water goes where it goes, and is not a thing to be feared but one to be respected.
## In Memory & Belief
Maris Wavecaller is widely worshipped wherever the sea shapes daily life — on coasts, in ports, and among those whose livelihoods depend on the water. Beyond that, little is recorded about the particulars of her following that is not common to the faith of the Seven as a whole.
