In a port town short on comfort, it offers the warmest welcome and the most agreeable rooms to be found near the water — the natural lodging for any traveller who arrives in the city with coin enough to spend. ## Location & Geography The Lion stands in the Docklands, the noisy, salt-worn waterfront that runs the length of Camaar's harbour, within reach of the quays and the taverns of the Drunken Quay. It is a two-storey building of stone and timber, plainer than its reputation would suggest from the outside, distinguished chiefly by the carved wooden lion above the door that gives the house its name. Within, it is warmer and better kept than the rough character of the surrounding district would lead a visitor to expect — comfortable rooms, a common room with evening entertainment, and the steady, practical hospitality of a house that has lodged sailors and merchants for a long time. ## The Inn The Lion is kept by [[Mistress Serin]], a graceful innkeeper famously discreet about the comings and goings of her guests — a quality prized in a port where many arrivals would rather not be remembered. She is widely held to know more than she lets on. Evening entertainment in the common room falls to Brevin, the house bard, who plays for the lodgers and trades in the loose talk of the docks. Rooms run to roughly fifteen silver a night, a fair price by the standards of a comfortable house, and the inn keeps a steady trade from the better sort of traveller passing through the harbour. ## [[The Bloody Nails|Campaign: The Bloody Nails]] #### [[Session 08 - The High Road]] After arriving in Camaar and meeting the [[Mawbreakers]] at their dockside stronghold, the party checked into the Lion for the night — only to discover, in the bustle of the city, that they had been pickpocketed of their coin and several magic items, including the [[Moonstone]]. #### [[Session 09 - The Veiled Den]] Battered from a street brawl, the party retreated to the Lion to recover, securing three nights' lodging through [[Gemma Finegold]] for forty-five silver. During the long rest here, [[Neros]] was plagued by a vision of golden eyes shifting between animal forms — dog, cat, snake, and snowy owl — and the unshakable sense of being watched. #### [[Session 17 - A New Journey Begins]] Returning to their familiar haunt before leaving Camaar for good, the party spent a final night at the Lion. [[Ryo]] cast a tracking mark on [[Mistress Serin]] to keep tabs on her, while [[Kai]] bought a drink for Brevin and pressed him for stories about the Imperial figure "Korvas" — the bard, by every read, genuinely knew nothing.
