Its wares gleam with engraving, gilding, and silver-leaf, and its proprietor regards plain, serviceable steel with open disdain. ## Location & Geography Silverforge stands among the boutiques and galleries of the [[Artisan Way]], one of [[Val Miriel]]'s more refined commercial thoroughfares, well removed from the soot and clamour of the city's working smithies. A polished storefront fronts the street — a wide display window arranges ornate breastplates and decorative blades on velvet stands, and silver trim catches the daylight. Inside, the shop trades in armour and weaponry made as much for show as for war. ## The Armoury The shop's stock-in-trade is finery: engraved plate, gilded edges, and ornamentation that would look at home at a noble's feast and rather less so on a battlefield. The proprietor is a half-elf who favours silver makeup and an air of haughty refinement, and who treats requests for functional, unadorned arms as something close to an insult. For travellers seeking weapons that will simply hold an edge, the practical smithies of the city's military district are the better bet. ## [[The Bloody Nails|Campaign: The Bloody Nails]] #### [[Session 20 - The Streets of Val Miriel]] While outfitting themselves in [[Val Miriel]], the party visited Silverforge in search of practical arms, only to clash with its supercilious proprietor, who scorned [[Eryndor]]'s request for functional weapons. When [[Vaeleran]] presented his mysterious greatsword, the smith did at least recognise its craftsmanship as Northern steel, likely forged in or near [[Val Aran]]. The group left empty-handed — Eryndor spitefully scattering ball bearings across the floor on his way out — and found the weaponry they needed at [[The Coal]] instead.
