The Royal Way runs from the [[Miriel Keep]] through the city's old noble quarter on the western bank, home to the nobility, the administration of the city, and the well-heeled who keep their wealth behind walls and good manners. ## Location & Geography The Royal Way descends the western bank of the [[Luminor River]], sharing that side of the city with the Military Way but feeling a world apart from it. At its head stands the [[Miriel Keep]], the sprawling fortress of [[Governor Tarlis Evandron]] overlooking the [[Gulf of Miriel]] — ancient Miriel walls blended with newer Imperial stonework. Below it the Way is the quietest and most orderly quarter in the city: clean streets, old family seats, quiet monuments, and the slow, unhurried business of governing Val Miriel in the Miriel name. ## The Quarter Where the Military Way bristles and the Artisan Way glitters, the Royal Way keeps its money out of sight.
