The **Architecton** is the Nexus of the [[Circle of the Loom]], the floating citadel-heart of the Fundament Canton in [[Sumara, The Shining City|Sumara]]. Forever clad in scaffolding and frozen cranes, it is a master architect's greatest unfinished work — and the workshop from which the Shining City is built.
## Location & Geography
The Architecton anchors the Fundament Canton, the lower Canton where the waterfall reaches the valley floor, amid workshops, aqueducts, and forge-halls marked with geometric measurement lines. The citadel is covered in permanent decorative scaffolding and cranes caught mid-swing, so that it reads less as a building site than as a standing statement that the work of Sumara is never finished. Like all seven Nexuses, it can lift from its anchor and drift above the city, rising with its sister citadels to dock at the peak of the [[Royal Citadel]] whenever a [[Sumara, The Shining City#The Confluence of the Seven|Confluence]] is called.
## Seat of the Loom
The Architecton is the seat of the [[Circle of the Loom]] — Sumara's builders and enchanters — and its Meridian, Master Artisan Fenian, a perfectionist who treats the whole city as a single ongoing work of art. From here the Circle weaves magic into stone and glass to raise and maintain Sumara's physical fabric; every Nexus, aqueduct, and bridge of solidified light in the city is their work.
