No amount of joffee will sharpen the eyes or quicken the mind; it simply tastes good. ## Description Joffee is prepared from the roasted seeds of the *joffae* shrub, steeped in hot water until the liquid runs the colour of midnight. Its aroma — dark and faintly sweet — is unmistakable in any inn, market hall, or noble parlour across the continent. Whether served in a traveller's clay cup or a lord's gilded goblet, the brew is identical: smooth, satisfying, and entirely without stimulating effect. For centuries this was simply considered joffee's nature. It was not until elven botanists began experimenting with grafting specimens of [[Faewild]] flora onto Material Plane stock that anything changed. The resulting *joffae* hybrid, when roasted and brewed, produces a cup every bit as rich in flavour as the original — but with one significant difference. It works. Fae joffee carries a genuine stimulating effect: drinkers find their thoughts sharpened, their fatigue lifted, and their mood improved for an hour or so afterward. Fae joffee remains a relative novelty on the Material Plane, produced by a handful of elven cultivators and commanding a modest premium at those establishments that stock it. Most travellers encounter it only by accident — or by the generosity of someone who has. ## [[The Bloody Nails|Campaign: The Bloody Nails]] #### [[Session 51 - The Last Light]] During a final morning at the [[Locus Arcanum]] before the party departed [[Sumara, The Shining City|Sumara]], [[Kai]] and the others were served fae joffee and discovered, perhaps to their surprise, that it actually does something.
