Where his predecessors kept the Ravens above the struggles of the continent, Ebon turned them into a weapon against the [[Valtorran Empire]] — and to those who know the name at all, it is spoken in the same breath as the dwarven uprisings of that age. ## Biography When the rise of the Valtorran Empire ended the Order's long detachment and the Hands of the Empire declared open season on the Ravens, it was under Ebon that the network abandoned its ancient neutrality. He remade the Order as an active resistance — running agents into the Empire's inner circles, instigating uprisings, and working to keep the Empire from consolidating power unchecked. He is remembered above all as the architect of the Dwarven rebellions of that era. That his hand could reach so deep into the dwarven holds has long fed the assumption that he was a dwarf himself — one whose long lifespan and kinship with his people made those risings possible in a way no outsider could have managed — though no one beyond the Order can say so for certain. Beyond the rebellions that bear his fingerprints, almost nothing reliable is known of the man — his face, his whereabouts, and his fate have never been matters of public record, and the Order has never seen fit to make them so.
