Old even by elven measure, she is the most isolationist voice on the Council of Circles — and the one most attuned to the health of the world beneath Sumara's roots. ## Biography Sylvaris spends the majority of her long years in the warm humid depths of the Greensward, tending the fae-flora that feeds the city and conducting patient experiments in cross-realm cultivation — coaxing Material Plane flora to take root in Faewild soil and vice versa. The purple carrots grown in the terraces are among her better-known results. Her loyalty is to the [[Silmara Family|Silmara]] line and to Sumara's continued survival; her wariness of outsiders stems not from malice but from centuries of watching the city hold together through careful isolation. She carries her distrust like moss on her robes — quietly, and without apology. Despite her reticence toward strangers, Sylvaris is not cold. Those she trusts find her direct, warm, and quietly funny. She holds deep reverence for living things, and her instinct when given a gift is to press her ear against it and listen. ### [[The Bloody Nails|Campaign: The Bloody Nails]] #### [[Session 47 - Confluence of the Seven]] Sylvaris attended [[The Confluence of the Seven]] as a member of the Council of Circles. Quiet for much of the session, she broke her silence to report that she could feel the Faewild fraying through the roots — *"Things are pressing against the mountains that don't belong here"* — a testimony that shifted the balance of the vote. She raised her hand in favour of opening the [[Vault of Memories]], joining [[Illythia Voss]], Fenian, Naivara Siannodel, and Silaqui Amastacia in a five-to-two result. #### [[Session 50 - A New Morning in Sumara]] [[The Bloody Nails]] sought an audience with Sylvaris in the Greensward, finding her tending potted saplings. On seeing [[Ryo]], she crossed the room and declared — *"Cut directly from the root, you are. There's definitely no doubt about it"* — dismissing [[Kaelen Vayne]]'s doubts with characteristic bluntness. When [[Berberis]] produced a feather token enchanted with a Material Plane oak, Sylvaris took it reverently and led the party out into the bioluminescent fields to plant it. The resulting sixty-foot oak drew her to its trunk to listen and hum to it before she declared it healthy. Over its roots she recounted the history of the Long Hunt, naming [[Ellesandra Silmara]] as an ancestor of Ryo's line and warning the party about [[Caer Nystral, The Dawnless City]] and the [[Vale of Eternal Night|Vale]]. She expressed quiet doubt that [[Mirileth|the Star-Veiled Queen]] would have permitted [[Asha Vayne|Asha Vayne's]] disappearance to be as simple as it appeared. She advised Ryo to keep his silver hair covered when crossing into the Vale, directed the party to [[Ayana Syndrosa|Ayana]] for Zephyr Cuffs, and accepted a sending stone on behalf of the Council. As the party departed, she knelt among the wildflowers [[Berberis]] had grown around the oak's base and answered them with fae blooms of her own.
