Her twin sister [[Tara]] carried her memory for a lifetime, kept close by a small silver locket — until the locket found its way home. ## Biography Salla and her twin sister [[Tara]] grew up together in [[Faelon]], the rough-edged mining settlement that clings to the foothills below [[Tumbler's Crag]]. As children, the two were inseparable. At some point, Salla ventured up onto the top of [[Tumbler's Crag]], where she fell through a concealed cave opening and plunged into the caverns below, breaking both legs in the fall. Unable to climb out or call for help, she never returned. Her skeleton lay undisturbed in a subterranean cavern for years, the silver locket still clutched in her small hand — a planar rift warping the air nearby, thick with necromantic energy. Her spirit did not rest easily. When [[The Bloody Nails]] descended into the cave, the act of disturbing the locket roused Salla's ghost in a state of furious grief. She unleashed a devastating psychic wail and fought the party with desperate, inconsolable violence. [[Dondar]] ultimately dispelled her with a bolt of lightning. In the aftermath, [[Kai]] gathered her bones and the locket both, carrying them back to the surface. Back in [[Faelon]], Kai and [[Ryo]] brought the remains and the locket to [[Tara]], by then a very old woman who had lived her whole long life with the mystery of her sister's disappearance. The return gave her the closure she had waited decades for, and she began to speak of leaving the village at last. Years later, the cave beneath [[Tumbler's Crag]] was recognised as one of four planar rift sites the party had encountered across their travels — a detail that cast Salla's haunting in a new light, her restless spirit as much a consequence of the rift's corruption as of grief. ### [[The Bloody Nails|Campaign: The Bloody Nails]] #### [[Session 11 - The Tale of Salla the Brave]] The party discovered Salla's skeleton in the cavern beneath [[Tumbler's Crag]], her locket still in hand. Disturbing the locket summoned her ghost, which attacked with a devastating wail before being destroyed by Dondar's *Witch Bolt*. #### [[Session 12 - How to Start a Rebellion]] Kai collected Salla's bones and the locket from the cave. He and Ryo returned them to [[Tara]] in [[Faelon]], finally bringing the old woman closure after a lifetime of not knowing her sister's fate.
