**Gaara** is a halfling trapper and shopkeeper of [[Val Miriel]], and the owner of [[The Fur and Fang]]. Good-natured and passionate about his trade, he runs the shop alongside his niece [[Kira]], and carries himself with the easy warmth of someone who has made a life doing exactly what he loves.
## Biography
Gaara has worked the wilderness around Val Miriel for most of his life, building [[The Fur and Fang]] into a reputable establishment for hunters, adventurers, and anyone in need of quality pelts, hides, or knowledge of the land beyond the city walls. His niece [[Kira]] joined him in the trade in time, and the two now form a capable partnership — Gaara the gregarious face of the shop, Kira the sharp analyst behind the counter. He keeps tabs on rumours filtering in from hunters and trappers working the surrounding region, making the shop as much an informal news exchange as a trading post.
### [[The Bloody Nails|Campaign: The Bloody Nails]]
#### [[Session 22 - Inferno at Serenity Plaza]]
The party visited [[The Fur and Fang]] seeking a hunting contract. [[Kai]] challenged Gaara to an arm-wrestling match; bolstered by magical assistance from his companions, Kai won — earning Gaara's respect and a contract to hunt a massive lizard-like beast reportedly lurking in the woods north of [[Farhaven]].
#### [[Session 25 - The Chimera]]
The party returned to [[The Fur and Fang]] with the Chimera corpse in tow. Gaara and [[Kira]] negotiated the purchase of the remains for approximately 2,200 gold, with [[Ryo]] additionally commissioning a cloak from a pristine tiger pelt. Gaara also shared troubling news: the [[Order of Ravens]] had broken into the Bastion, stolen documents, and possibly attempted to assassinate the General — information that had set the city on edge.
#### [[Session 27 - The Wanted Dwarf]]
[[Ryo]] and [[Eryndor]] returned to [[The Fur and Fang]] to collect the final payout on the Chimera. Gaara and [[Kira]] had completed their analysis of the remains, paying out roughly 2,900 gold for the Chimera parts and an additional 40 gold for the tiger pelts.
