Those practical skills caught the eye of a passing captain who took him on as a ship's hand; he worked his way up through the ranks, proving an instinct for logistics that surpassed his size and station. In time he joined the crew of the Albatross under [[Barak Stormrider]], becoming the ship's quartermaster — a role he fills with quiet authority, spending long hours at his desk with maps, manifests, and a worn pair of round glasses perched on his nose.
