He is among the most experienced pathfinders working the [[Frostway]] — a broad, bearded man with quick feet and an easy laugh, trusted by crews and caravan-masters alike to find the safe route through. ## Biography Dane drifted into [[Point Blackrock]] some years back, a former soldier who had grown tired of fighting other men's wars and found the cold honesty of the ice more to his liking. He fell in with the [[The Frostwardens|Frostwardens]] after pulling a stranded crew out of a whiteout storm — the kind of unasked favour that earns a berth without a word needing to be said. He has guided the [[The Frostwarden Crews#Fox Crew|Fox Crew]]'s runs ever since, building a reputation for reading the Frostway's shifting dangers with an almost uncanny calm. ### [[The Bloody Nails|Campaign: The Bloody Nails]] #### [[Session 33 - A Camp Alight]] Introduced as the Fox Crew's scout when the party joined the caravan into the ice fields; identified as the expert at finding paths and avoiding the Frostway's monsters. #### [[Session 34 - Mourning Bells]] Guided the party and the Fox Crew deeper into the Frostway. Accompanied [[Lysa]] and [[Sela Ren|Sela]] into a humid, moss-lined cavern at the end of an unnatural gouge in the ice, where the group found a large egg and a dimensional rift. Later, when the crew discovered the frozen ruins of the [[The Frostwarden Crews#Wolf Crew|Wolf Crew]] massacre site, Dane rang a bell as a funeral rite — the tolling triggered a tremor in the ice. #### [[Session 35 - The Frostway]] Volunteered to remain behind at camp to care for an injured companion, Kellan, while [[Lysa]] and [[Sela Ren|Sela]] continued guiding the party onwards.
